Cello
Daniel Kim began his studies in cello with Jennifer Stomberg and Amy Barston, and received his Bachelor of Music degree from the Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University, where he studied with Professor Hans Jorgen Jensen on the Northwestern Scholarship. He then attended the New England Conservatory in Boston to pursue his Masters in Cello Performance on a Dean’s Scholarship with Professor Yeesun Kim.
In past summers, Mr. Kim has attended the Meadowmount School of Music and the Great Mountains Music Festival and School, where he studied with Clive Greensmith, Jian Wang, Julia Lichten, Clara Kim, and Doomin Kim. Previously, he has played for esteemed musicians and groups, including Lynn Harrell, Mark Kosower, Blaise Dejardin, Peter Stumpf, Rick Mooney, Gilda Barston, and the Borromeo String Quartet. Mr. Kim is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Cello Performance at Arizona State University on a full scholarship and holds a Teaching Assistant position under the tutelage of Professor Tom Landschoot.
Mr. Kim has performed as a soloist with the Fresno Philharmonic, and is scheduled to perform with the Arizona State University Symphony in its 2024 season, and is the coach for the World Doctors Orchestra’s 2024 Phoenix Cycle.
