Jonathan Kuehn

Viola, Violin

Jonathan Kuehn was born and raised in the Puget Sound region near Seattle, WA. He performed regularly with orchestras near Seattle and taught violin and viola to students from pre-school through high school levels. In 2019 and 2022 Jonathan gave solo recitals that included music by Bach, Paganini, and Kaija Saariaho. He has performed in masterclasses by Nathan Cole, Ming-Feng Hsin, Gabriel Lefkowitz, and Jonathan Godfrey. Additionally, Jonathan was a founding member of the University of Washington Baroque Ensemble.

 

Currently, Jonathan is pursuing a graduate degree in violin performance at Arizona State University under professor Jonathan Swartz. Beyond music, he studied meteorology at the University of Washington, where he earned a bachelors degree, and he enjoys hiking and camping.

With over 5 years of experience guiding students on their musical path through their instrument, Jonathan remains excited to share his musical and technical knowledge with his students. By encouraging students to be curious and to become their own best teacher, he strives to engage every student uniquely to best cultivate their connection with music.
