Giovanna Gioscia is a sophomore music education and saxophone performance double major at Arizona State University where she studies saxophone with Dr. Chris Creviston. She has performed with the Connecticut All-State Band, the New England Festival Band, the Greater Hartford Youth Wind Ensemble and the 2019 Nafme All-National Band.

Giovanna performed as a soloist at the 2020 Navy Band International Saxophone Symposium and was selected as the Arizona MTNA Senior Performance Woodwind Winner. In both 2021 and 2022, she was awarded the National Young Arts Foundation Honorable Mention in Classical Music.

Most recently Giovanna was chosen as a winner of the Tiziano Rossetti International Music Competition. Her previous teachers include Joe D’Aleo of the United States Coast Guard Band, and one day she hopes to follow in his footsteps and win a position with one of America’s premier military bands.

Giovanna is available for saxophone lessons for all ages as well as beginner and intermediate level flute lessons.

“Giovanna was my section leader for 3 years when I played Saxophone and was an excellent teacher and leader. Giovanna excelled in her musical talent as well as her innate sense for teaching and helping others. Giovanna is also exceptionally kind, going out of her way to help anyone at any time with a difficult part. My skills as a player and overall musician improved tremendously during my time working with her. As well as this, the other players in the Saxophone section saw great improvement as well and the section as a whole became much more dynamic and skillful. Giovanna is also a very strong leader with a careful eye for even the most slight detail that any normal player could easily miss.”
